On 31 May, Boston will host the first Barcelona Innovation Day, the largest staging of the ecosystem of knowledge and innovation around the world with the aim of turning Barcelona into an influential piece on the world stage. The conference is promoted by SciTech DiploHub with the collaboration of Harvard Kennedy School, the Government delegation in the United States, ACCIÓ and Biocat.
The Barcelona Innovation Day will be attended by the main research, higher education and innovation organizations; experts in scientific diplomacy, life sciences and will bring together the most relevant actors from the academic world, startups, industry, and public institutions in Barcelona and Boston to strengthen relations between the two ecosystems and promote research institutions and companies.
At the conference, Alexis Roig, CEO of SciTech DiploHub, will present this pioneering association that aims to deploy the strategy of Barcelona’s science diplomacy and represent its ecosystem and innovation around the world. SciTech DiploHub has the support of Barcelona’s main research centers, universities, non-profit organizations, companies, and public institutions.
Among the presentations planned are Catalonia and Massachusetts: taking advantage of education, talent and investment to lead the future, with the participation of Travis McCready, president and CEO of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center and Victoria Alsina, delegate of the Government of Catalonia in the United States and Canada. In addition, there will be a series of speakers such as Joan Camprodon, head of the neuropsychiatry division at the Massachusetts General Hospital; Elisabet De Los Pinos, director general of Aura Biosciences; and Jordi Naval, CEO of Biocat-BioRegion.
